Lifestyle priorities

This is an important time for children to learn healthy eating habits, such as having breakfast every day, and experiencing a wide range of fun activities. The role of parents cannot be underestimated, as they play a big part in determining the health and well being of their children. It is especially important that parents set a good example themselves in regards to exercise, sensible eating and attitude towards a healthy lifestyle.

Eyes

An examination at 3 and 6, then every 2 -3 years

Immunisations

At 2, 4, 6, 12 and 18 months, one at 4 years.

Annual influenza and 5 yearly pneumococcal pneumonia are recommended for children with cyanotic congenital heart disease and children on immunosuppressive therapy.

Teeth

At 2, then every 6 months
