At ahm Health Insurance, we provide you with several options for making a claim.
- Online - login and claim most paid extras benefits on our website any time you like.
- Over the phone (TeleClaim) - call us on 134 246 during business hours to claim your paid extras benefits.
- Mail - post your claim, free of charge to ‘Australian Health Management’, Reply Paid 75885, Matraville, NSW 2036.
- At your provider - claim your benefit using HICAPS and only pay the difference at participating service providers.
Before you get started
Before you make a claim, there are a few things you'll need to have ready:
- Your claim details:
- your receipt
- your membership number
- the date the service was provided
- the details of the service provider
- the name and type of service provided, and
- the cost of the service.

- If you would like to use online claiming or telephone claiming (TeleClaim), you’ll need to nominate a HandyClaim account. We need your authority so we can transfer your benefit payments into your nominated bank account. If you haven’t already provided this information, you can register for Handyclaim online.
Alternatively, download a payment form and complete the Handyclaim section. Send it free of charge to Australian Health Management, Reply Paid 75885, Matraville NSW 2036. If you have any questions, please contact us. - Online claiming and TeleClaim can be used to claim for most prepaid extras services including routine dental. To claim for medical gap or high-cost dentistry, please download a claim form and submit the claim by mail.
- A combined limit of $500 applies for online claims and telephone claiming (TeleClaims). Once you send us your receipts your online/TeleClaim limit is reset.
- Services that were provided more than two years ago aren't claimable.
Choose your claim method
Online
Simply register online and most paid extras claims up to $500 can be processed straight away and your benefit will usually be deposited into your HandyClaim account within 2 working days.
Registering for online services is easy! Just enter your membership number, some personal details, and then pick a secure password to access online services any time you like. Register now!
Once you are registered for online services, you’ll be able to claim most extras online, check your benefit limits, look at your previous transactions with us, view or edit your membership details, and much more!

By phone (TeleClaim)
Make your claim straight away over the phone, and we deposit your benefit into your HandyClaim account. All you have to do then is mail us your receipts. You can do this for most paid extras claims up to $500!
Simply call us on 134 246 during business hours (Australian Eastern Standard Time), Monday to Friday. Be ready to quote your membership number, and the details of your claim.

Make your claim by mail. Simply download and complete a claim form. Return the completed form and receipts, free of charge, to Australian Health Management, Reply Paid 75885, Matraville NSW 2036.
At your provider
With participating service providers you can claim your extras services through the HICAPS system at the point of service. Simply use your membership card to claim your benefit and only pay the difference to your provider. Ask your provider if they have HICAPS facilities, or visit HICAPS online for more information.

HandyClaim – the quickest way to receive your benefits
We can pay your benefits straight into your nominated bank account if your claim is for a service which has already been paid. Plus, if you register your bank account details with us, you can use our TeleClaim and online claiming options. If you haven’t already provided this information, you can register for Handyclaim online.

Please note: We don’t issue a statement of benefits paid through HandyClaim so you’ll need to check your own bank account statements.
By cheque…
Mail or over the counter claims can be paid by cheque.
Once we receive and process your claim, your benefit will usually be deposited into your nominated HandyClaim account within 2 working days, or a cheque will be sent to you. If your money hasn't been received within this time or you have questions about HandyClaim, please contact us.
