Australian Health Management provides you with a number of options for making a claim. Choose
the method most convenient for you:
- Online - login and claim your extras benefits on your fund's web site any time you like.
- Teleclaims - call us during business hours to process your claim over the phone.
- Mail - post your claim to us, free of charge.
- Counter - make a claim over the counter at our Wollongong office.
- Point of Service - claim your benefit using HICAPS and only pay the gap.
Before you get started
Before you make a claim, there are a few things you'll need to know:
- Your claim details:
- Your membership number,
- Date the service was provided,
- Details for the provider of the service,
- Name and type of service provided, and
- Cost of the service.
- Nominate a HandyClaim account - this is necessary for online and teleclaims.
We need your payment authority so we can transfer benefits arising
from your online claims into your nominated bank account. If you have
not already provided this information, you can
register for Handyclaim online.
Alternatively, complete the Handyclaim section when you download a Payment form. Send it free of charge to Australian Health Management, Reply Paid 75885, Matraville NSW 2036. If you have any questions, please contact us. - Online and teleclaiming can only be used to claim for general ancillary and general dental. To claim for medical gap or high-cost dentistry, please download a claim form and submit the claim by mail.
- A combined limit of $400 applies for online and teleclaims. Once you send us your receipts your limit is updated.
- Services with a date greater than two years old are not claimable.
Choose your claim method
Online
Our online claiming service is quick, easy, and always available. Claim at your convenience - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week!
To be able to make an online claim, you must first:
- Nominate a HandyClaim account (as described above)
We need your payment authority so we can transfer benefits arising from your online claims into your nominated account. - Register for our online services
Registering is easy - you can do it online! Just enter your membership number and some personal details, then pick a secure password to access online services any time you like. Register now!
Once you have registered for a password, you can make claims online, check details of your transactions with the fund, view or edit your membership details, and much more!

Teleclaims
Teleclaiming is available during business hours (Australian Eastern Seaboard Time), Monday to Friday. To make a claim over the phone, please call us on 134 246, and be ready to quote your membership number, and the details of your claim. You need to have nominated a HandyClaim account to access this service.
To claim your benefits by mail, please download and complete a claim form. Return the completed form and receipts, free of charge, to Australian Health Management, Reply Paid 75885, Matraville NSW 2036.
Counter claims
Members living in the vicinity of our head office are welcome to come in to our front counter and have their claims processed and benefits paid the same day. Our head office is located at 77 Market Street, Wollongong, NSW and visitor parking is provided. More information on location and opening hours.
Point of Service
You can claim for your extras services through the HICAPS system at the point of service. With participating providers, you can use your membership card to claim your benefit and only pay the gap to your provider. Ask your provider if they have HICAPS facilities, or visit HICAPS online.
Payment Options
Australian Health Management gives you the option of receiving your benefits by:
- cheque (mail or counter claims) or
- deposit into your HandyClaim account.
Once we receive and process your claim, your benefit will be deposited into your nominated HandyClaim account within 48 hours, or a cheque sent to you within 7 working days. If your money has not been received within this time or you have questions about HandyClaim, please contact us.
