By simply paying an additional premium your adult children can stay on your policy rather than having to take out their own policy to maintain private health cover (or be without private health cover).

What levels of cover is +18 available with?

+18 is available with Essential Hospital Level 5, Top Hospital, Top Hospital Level 5 and Top Hospital Level 8 (and any combination of these hospital covers with extras).

+18 isn't available with extras only cover or with Family Hospital Level 5 or Basic Hospital.

How much does +18 cost?

By simply paying an additional premium on top of your current premium your adult children (who meet the requirements of being a dependent adult) can stay covered by your membership (rather than having to pay for their own policy).

If you have hospital only cover

You will pay an additional premium of 25% of your current premium.

If you have a combined hospital and extras cover

You will pay an additional premium based on 25% of your current hospital and 35% of your current extras premium. This works out be approximately 25% - 35% of your total premium depending on your current level of cover.

If you have a combined hospital and extras cover, you’ll need to purchase +18 on the package (not just one part).
