Why Health Coaching?
Willpower alone is often not enough to achieve lasting changes to your health. Get the support you need from your own Health Consultant. They will give you the motivation, tools and techniques you need to make permanent change.
ahm's experienced Health Consultants include exercise physiologists, dietitians and nurses. They can help you manage and improve any aspect of your health. From increasing your exercise, losing weight, quitting smoking or managing stress they are there to assist you. It's all just a phone call away.
- It helps you to make the changes needed to improve your health through motivation and behavioural change
- You’ll be provided with information specific to your health goals and needs
- You can use ahm's online diary for tracking and setting goals and access a library of health features and recipes.
What you get…
ahm's Health Coaching is a confidential, telephone-based program. If you enrol you will receive:
- Help to set a health goal and develop a plan of attack
- Regular phone contact over the 6-month program to help achieve your goals
- A phone-in service for extra support when you need it
- Health information that's relevant to your health goal.

Shane's story.
At 24 Shane was a self-confessed 'stresshead' with a pack a day cigarette habit. He tried multiple times to quit, but with lots of down time at work, boredom always got the best of him.
So, Shane set a goal with an ahm health consultant to quit once and for all. Together they created a strategy to address the temptations. Shane has now been smoke-free for 6 months and just achieved his second health goal, to better manage his stress.
"I’ve learned to give myself space and put things in perspective, and when I feel myself getting stressed, I’m now able to talk myself out of it."
Shane says his stress levels have gone from "still functioning but definitely not ideal" to "as close to perfect as is possible."
Becky's story
Nearly 10 years ago, Becky lost 13 kilograms and kept it off for five years. But balancing a busy social and professional life with responsibilities as a young parent has led to some of the weight creeping back on.
So Becky set a goal with an ahm health consultant to lose 3 kilograms over 12 weeks.
"I'm running four times a week now and doing Pump and Pilates class each week and this week I doubled my weights at Pump." Becky says. "I have a lot more energy, I’m looking slimmer and my clothes are fitting better."
Not only has Becky lost the kilos, but she raced the City to Surf and didn’t stop to walk at all during the hilly 14k. "I am feeling better than ever."
